They are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support the next phase of growth. The Opportunity This is a high-impact, foundational sales role for an experienced BDM who is experienced/ thrives in long-cycle, relationship-driven sales environments. You’ll have genuine influence, strong internal support, and the chance to grow into a senior leadership position as the company expands. You will play a pivotal role in: Developing new business opportunities Expanding relationships within existing client organisations Navigating complex stakeholder groups to win major subcontract packages You will be supported by a dedicated estimating and technical team, allowing you to focus almost entirely on relationship building, deal progression, and closing work. Key Responsibilities Proactively develop new business opportunities with commercial builders and construction firms Build and maintain strong relationships across multiple stakeholders, including: Project Managers Construction Managers Contracts Administrators / Managers Design Managers Site teams Manage opportunities through a consultative sales cycle from early budgeting through to contract award Identify decision-makers and navigate procurement structures effectively Qualify opportunities to ensure alignment with the business’s capabilities and value proposition Present and submit commercial proposals with support from internal estimating and technical teams Conduct regular client meetings, site visits, and account reviews Maintain ownership of accounts you bring on and continue developing those relationships over time Spend approximately 3 days per week on the road , with the balance focused on follow-ups, coordination, and deal progression It is essential you have/are: Proven experience in business development or sales within a service-based environment Strong ability to build rapport, earn trust, and influence decision-makers Confidence selling value, not price , in competitive tender environments A consultative sales approach with the ability to ask difficult questions and uncover real client needs Comfortable managing long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills Not afraid to ask for the order and close deals Able to go to Moss Vale once a week Highly Regarded Experience selling to commercial builders or within the construction sector Experience working for a subcontractor rather than a product-based business Industry experience is valuable but not essential.
